LOT 1180
A George III figured mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 14-inch painted circular dial with black Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture and inscribed 'Abrm Smith & Co Manchester', the hood with swan neck pediment above glazed door and carved fluted Corinthian columns, the trunk with drop finial moulding frieze above triple arched door, flanked by carved fluted columns, on a panelled base and bracket feet, height 223cm, with pendulum and two weights. Note: Abraham Smith is a recorded clockmaker working in Manchester between 1790 and 1794.
