A mid-19th century 1822/45 pattern infantry officer's sword by Pillin, Gerrard Street, London, with slightly curved single-edged fullered blade, blade length 81cm, etched with foliate decoration and detailed with crowned 'VR' cypher and scroll border cartouche with personalized lion head crest and initials 'APJ', numbered '6981' to the spine, gilt cast brass gothic hilt with oval crowned 'VR' cypher, wire bound fishskin grip and bullion knot, with steel scabbard with twin ring suspension (environmental issues and active rust to scabbard).
