A late 19th century Japanese katana with curved single-edged blade, blade length 64cm, the tang with single hole piercing, mounted with an earlier tsuba, probably 18th century, decorated with a part-three-dimensional dragon design, and part-fabric bound fishskin grip with fuchi and kashira mounts, decorated with a horse and bird, with lacquered scabbard, decorated with dragonflies over a continuous tendril ground with aventurine type inclusions.
