A George VI period Royal Navy officer's dress sword by Gieves with straight single-edged fullered blade, blade length 80.5cm, finely etched with crowned fouled anchor, Royal arms and foliate designs, gilt cast brass hilt with folding guard, engraved 'J. Bedingfield', and wire bound fishskin grip with bullion knot, with brass mounted stitched leather scabbard with associated suspension belt and all-weather slip case. Note: please see Lot 4280 for J. Bedingfield's Naval General Service Medal group.
