A scarce Second World War period Fairbairn-Sykes third pattern fighting knife with double-edged blade, blade length 17cm, the ricasso unusually marked 'The F.S. fighting knife', oval steel guard and moulded bronzed alloy ribbed grip, the pommel marked '2', with brass mounted stitched leather scabbard. Provenance: originally the property of P/JX276125 Sub-lieutenant John Braithwaite Slack, who served in the Royal Navy 26th August 1941 to 15th November 1945, thence by descent.
