A late 19th/early 20th century French gendarmerie cavalry helmet by B. Franck & Ses Files, Aubervilliers, the brass body with applied white metal crest with embossed decoration, Medusa mask and horse hair plume, applied white metal band with laurel leaves and central flaming grenade, applied white metal brim and leather chin strap with applied white metal scales and embossed lion mask hinge points, the interior leather lined, height 27cm.
