A 1914-18 British War Medal and a 1914-19 Victory Medal to ‘C.F.Humphrey. B.R.C. & St.J.J.’, with part of box and part of postage package, a French issue Croix de Guerre with named citation document, record of service certificate with The Friends Ambulance Unit of the British Red Cross Society, further certificates, letters home circa 1917/1918, photographs and ephemera, a George Rowney & Co London black tin paint box, containing tubes of oil paint, and a wooden palette, together with two reproductions of the medal designed by Charles F. Humphrey, which were submitted to the British Olympic Association Committee for the contest to design a prize medal for the Olympic games, two Olympic Journals and a letter from the secretary of the British Olympic Association, dated 3rd May 1927, expressing sorrow that C. Humphrey’s design did not win in the final.
