A Chinese silk embroidered military-style rank badge, first rank, 20th century, worked in coloured threads with a qilin standing on a rock, amidst a surround of vapours, bats, lingzhi fungus and peach branches, above crashing waves on a red ground, 27cm x 28cm, framed and glazed, together with a similarly decorated rank badge, decorated in coloured threads with an elephant on a red ground, 26cm x 27cm, framed and glazed. Provenance: the property of a West Sussex lady collector.
