LOT 1623
A Coalport porcelain Japan pattern part service, circa 1810, painted in Imari colours and gilt with a rock and tree design within a panelled rim, the rim undersides with foliate detail, comprising a rectangular shaped soup tureen, cover and stand with gilt cornucopia moulded handles and finial, length of stand 34.5cm, a pair of square shaped tureens and covers with entwined gilt decorated moulded cornucopia finials, nine soup plates, 24.8cm diameter, fourteen plates, 24.3cm diameter, nine plates, 21.5cm diameter, oval platter, length 29cm, oval dish, length 27.8cm, square dish, length 22.5cm, and a saucer dish, diameter 21cm, unmarked (minor faults and wear). Provenance: From the estate of a Sussex gentleman. Purchased at a Sotheby's auction, 22nd November 2000. Note: pieces of a similar pattern are illustrated by Geoffrey A.
