A Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase, Meiji period, decorated with gilt landscape on a black ground, iron red and gilt signature to base, height 18cm, together with a collection of other Japanese and Chinese pottery, including a pair of Japanese Arita blue and white bowls, height 6.4cm, and a Japanese Koransha Imari jar, cover and inner lid, height 15cm (repaired).

A Chinese famille verte porcelain circular bowl, mark of Xuande but probably late Qing dynasty or later, the exterior painted with a Buddhist lama, bodhisattva and two conjoined deities, the interior with a carp amidst weed and flowers, underglaze blue six-character mark within double ring to base, diameter 22.5cm.

A Japanese dark brown patinated cast bronze figure of a girl, Meiji/Taisho period, modelled standing holding a bowl of seed in her left hand and sowing with her right, cast signature seal to back of base, height 40cm.

A collection of Chinese export porcelain, 18th century, including a famille verte sparrow beak cream jug and cover, height 13.2cm, a pink and gilt decorated sparrow beak cream jug, a blue and white sauce tureen, cover and stand, and a set of four famille rose plates, diameters 22.8cm, together with a Chinese Canton famille rose teapot and cover, height 10.6cm, and a Japanese blue and white teabowl and cover/stand (some faults).

A Chinese silk embroidered pleated apron skirt, late Qing dynasty, worked in coloured and gilt threads with panels of flowers and butterflies in shades of blue against a yellow ground, the front with a red ground dragon panel, length 74cm, together with a similarly embroidered two-panel tabard, each panel 42.5cm x 32cm (faults).

A Chinese embroidered kesi weave chestnut brown ground 'dragon' robe, late Qing dynasty, finely worked in coloured and gold threads with eight five-clawed dragons, vapours, flaming pearls, Buddhistic emblems, bats and precious objects, above crashing waves and rocks, with diagonally striped lishui hem border, the collar and cuffs similarly decorated with dragons, bats, vapours and waves, fitted with gilt metal fastenings, length 125cm (faults).

A Chinese hardwood altar table, probably late Qing dynasty, the rectangular panelled top with curved ends, the frieze and end panels carved and pierced with dragons and scrolling tendrils, on pierced legs united by stretchers, length 120cm, height 84cm, depth 42cm.

An impressive Japanese silk embroidered rectangular panel, Meiji period, worked in coloured threads, depicting a riverside pavilion and lanterns within a woodland landscape, black stitched two-character mark and pinkish red circular seal to lower left corner, 142.5cm x 86.5cm, framed and glazed.

A Japanese eggshell porcelain part tea set, Meiji period, comprising teapot and cover, sucrier and cover, milk jug and six cups and saucers, each painted with dragons and vapours on an iron red ground, height of teapot 16cm (some faults).

A Chinese carved hardwood figure group of a boy seated on the back of a recumbent water buffalo, early 20th century, on a carved and pierced hardwood stand, total length 36cm, together with a similar smaller figure group and stand, length 22cm.

A pair of Chinese famille verte crackle glazed porcelain vases, early 20th century, each shouldered body and flared neck painted with battle scenes within iron oxide washed borders, height 35cm, together with two similar smaller vases, a famille verte ginger jar and two Chinese Canton famille rose enamelled celadon ground plates, diameters 18.6cm and 18.8cm (some faults).

A Chinese watercolour and gouache painting on paper laid onto fabric, late Qianlong period, finely painted with a scene of an informal family gathering in the grounds of a lakeside palace, with pine trees and islets beyond, 96cm x 127cm, framed. Provenance: Sir Evelyn de la Rue (1879-1950) and his daughter Miss Diana de la Rue (1914-1998) of Lockleys, Hertfordshire, and Normans, Rusper. Their ancestors founded the printing firm which secured the Royal Warrant to produce playing cards, postage stamps and banknotes throughout the British Empire. This painting is illustrated on page 53 of Country Life, Vol XLVIII No. 1227, Saturday July 10th 1920, shown hanging above the fireplace at Lockleys in 'The Chinese Room from the South-East'; a copy of the Country Life magazine is included in the lot. The painting was sold by Toovey's on 16th April 1998, Lot 360, as part of the collection belonging to the late Miss Diana de la Rue, and illustrated in the sale catalogue.
