A mid-19th century Louis XV style kingwood bonheur-du-jour with rosewood banding of interwoven design and gilt metal mounts, the graduated back with a central cupboard, the door with an oval Sèvres style porcelain panel, painted with flowers within a green and gilt border, flanked by two sets of three drawers, the shaped frieze drawer revealing a writing slope inset with red velvet, on cabriole legs terminating in cast sabots, height 114cm, width 91cm, depth 54cm. Provenance: from the estate of the late John Young (1927-2017).
