A Chinese famille rose enamelled porcelain figure of Guanyin, late Qing dynasty, modelled seated holding a child on her right knee, her robe enamelled with flowers and scrolling tendrils, impressed seal marks to base, height approx 41cm (minor faults).

A Chinese Canton export tortoiseshell circular box and cover, mid-19th Century the top, sides and bottom finely carved in high relief with village scenes of figures, trees, pavilions and a boat, diameter approx 9.5cm. Provenance: believed to have been brought back from China by a member of the vendor's family who was a war correspondent at the time of the Boxer Rebellion.
