LOT 1245
An early 20th century regulator movement and dial, the movement with maintaining power, the 12-inch square silvered dial with subsidiary seconds and twenty-four hour dial with outer minute ring, inscribed 'Thomas Cooke & Sons York & London', the later hardwood rectangular case with glazed front doors, height 144cm, with pendulum, weight and winding key. Note: Thomas Cooke & Sons was founded by Thomas Cooke in York in 1837. By 1863 it had further premises in London, where he remained until his death in 1868. The business continued until 1922, when it merged with Troughton & Simms.
