                An early Victorian regulator movement and dial from the Royal Observatory at Herstmonceaux, the eight day movement with deadbeat escapement and maintaining power, the 11-inch square silvered dial with subsidiary seconds and hour dials and outer minute ring, inscribed 'Herstmonceaux', housed within a later hardwood rectangular case with glazed door, the interior mounted with a silvered beat plate detailed 'VR' and dated '1837' above 'Royal Observatory', height 174.5cm, with pendulum, weight and winding key.
