LOT 1259
A George III oak longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch painted breakarch dial with gilt urn and scroll decoration, black Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, inscribed 'W. Stanford South Walsham', the hood with moulded arch pediment, glazed door and turned columns, the arched trunk door above a plain base and plinth, height 209cm, with pendulum and two weights. Note: William Stanford is a recorded Norfolk clockmaker working in South Walsham circa 1780.
