An extremely rare early to mid-20th century Bradbury Wilkinson & Co engraved steel large format die plate for an advertising banknote, detailed 'Bradbury, Wilkinson & Company Limited', 'Bank Note Engravers & Printers', obverse with central design of a Viking princess and longboats reaching land, an oval cartouche with the head of Napoleon to the left, an oval cartouche with the numeral '5' to the right, values '5' to the corners, height 15cm, width 25.5cm (extremely fine), together with a colour trial uniface test strike from the same plate, printed in brown, yellow and black (good/very fine).
