A French model 1816 artillery gladius shortsword or sidearm with typical straight leaf-shaped triple-fullered blade, blade length 48.5cm, inscribed to the ricasso and dated '1817, and cast brass hilt with scale moulded grip, the guard numbered '1105' (active rust patches to blade), together with a French model 1831 infantry gladius shortsword or sidearm with typical straight leaf-shaped blade, blade length 48.5cm, and moulded brass grip, the guard numbered '424' (blade harshly cleaned).
