A late Victorian brass and black slate novelty desk timepiece, modelled as a ship's wheel and anchor, the movement with platform escapement, the 3½-inch white enamelled circular dial with black Roman hour numerals and inscribed 'S.J. Rood & Co 51 Burlington Arcade', on a black slate and brass rectangular plinth, height 24cm, with key (slate plinth repaired).
