LOT 1216
A William IV Scottish inlaid mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 13-inch painted breakarch dial with gilt decoration, black Roman hour numerals, subsidiary date and seconds dials, inscribed 'Ts Pringle Dalkeith', the hood with swan neck pediment, glazed door and fluted columns, the arched trunk door flanked by reeded corner columns, on bracket feet, height 216cm, with pendulum, two weights and winder. Note: Thomas Pringle is a recorded Scottish clockmaker working in Dalkeith circa 1830-36.
