A Second World War period Japanese NCO's katana with curved single-edged blade, blade length 65.5cm, the tang signed, oval cast bronze tsuba with chased radiating linear decoration, tape bound fishskin grip with hidden floral decorated menuki and openwork decorated kabuto-gane, with gilt metal mounted and decorated black lacquer scabbard with double ring suspension (some patchy discolouration to blade, evidence of poor resharpening in places, some losses to black lacquer on scabbard, bruising and scuffs).
