A fine Second World War period Japanese katana with curved single-edged blade, blade length 62cm, with fine even hamon, the signed tang with single peg hole piercing, decorated cast bronze tsuba, fabric tape bound fishskin grip with partially hidden flowerhead menuki fittings, fuchi and kabuto-gane pommel with brown tassel/knot, the fuchi with spring loaded scabbard release, with brown painted metal scabbard with single ring suspension, and a later purple cotton slip case bag.
