A fine Second World War period Japanese katana with curved single-edged blade, blade length 65cm, the signed tang with single pierced peg hole and stamped with quality inspector's mark, openwork decorated gilt cast bronze tsuba, fabric tape bound fishskin grip with partially hidden flowerhead menuki fittings, fuchi and kabuto-gane pommel with blue/brown tassel/knot, with brown painted metal scabbard with single ring suspension, and a later purple cotton slip case bag.
