LOT 1209
A George III mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch brass breakarch dial with silvered chime/silent indicator to the arch, above a silvered chapter ring with Roman hour numerals and outer Arabic minutes, signed 'Barnard Huggin Ashwellthorp', framing a matt centre with silvered subsidiary seconds, the pagoda top hood with three brass ball and spire finials above a moulded arch pediment, glazed door and Corinthian columns, the trunk with crossbanded arched door above a similarly crossbanded base and bracket feet, height 262cm, with pendulum and two brass cased weights. Note: Barnard Huggin (1733-1819) is a recorded Norfolk clockmaker working in Ashwellthorpe.
