A Regency brass inlaid rosewood mantel timepiece with eight day single fusee movement, the 6-inch painted circular dial with black Roman hour numerals and inscribed 'W. Atkins Poplar', the case with trefoil surmount above applied foliate scroll mouldings, gilt rosettes and a pair of brass loose ring handles, on a rectangular base and bun feet, height 38.7cm, with pendulum. Note: W. Atkins is a recorded London clockmaker, working in Poplar in the early 19th century.
