An early Victorian mahogany drop dial wall alarm timepiece with eight day single fusee movement, the alarm mechanism driven by a pull-wind barrel and sounding via a T-shaped hammer on the inside of the bell and a further hammer above, the 7-inch painted convex dial with black Roman hour numerals and detailed 'John B. Cross London', the moulded circular surround with cast brass bezel and convex glass above a bow apron with hinged trap door, case diameter 23.5cm, with pendulum. Note: John Berryhill Cross is a recorded London clockmaker working in Cornhill between 1839 and 1863.
