LOT 1214
A mid-19th century inlaid mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 13-inch painted breakarch dial with rolling moon to arch above Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture and inscribed 'Thos Rickards Wootton Underedge', the arched hood with three brass finials above fluted columns and a glazed door, the trunk with rectangular door, on bracket feet, height 219cm, with pendulum and two weights (some faults). Note: Thomas Rickards is a recorded Gloucestershire clockmaker working in Wootton Underedge between 1839 and 1859.
