LOT 1213
A George III mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch brass breakarch dial with silvered strike/silent indicator to the arch above a silvered chapter ring framing a matt centre with silvered subsidiary seconds, date aperture and plaque inscribed 'Kenth McLennan London', the hood with moulded arch pediment and three brass ball finials above a glazed door and fluted columns, the trunk with arched door above a panelled base and bracket feet, height 219cm, with case key, pendulum and two brass cased weights. Note: Kenneth McLennan was a notable London clockmaker working between 1776 and 1825, known for his high quality pieces, including a planetarium made for the Royal Institution in 1801.
