Anthony Devas (British 1911-1958) - Model with headscarf (Marie-Hélène, family au-pair at Carlisle Square and Tenby), oil on canvas, 50cm x 39.5cm, within a plain gilt frame. Note: Devas' work is represented in major collections including the National Portrait Gallery, the Tate and the National Maritime Museum, among others. Provenance: Prosper Devas, the artist's son, purchased by the vendor from his daughter, Molly. Anthony Devas was a friend of the vendor's mother and father and his oldest friend is Anthony's grand-child.
