LOT 3312
CRIMEA WAR. An autograph letter signed, dated March 12th 1855, written in Dresden but presumably privately carried to London where it was franked with a 1d red-brown stamp, addressed to Moultrie Kelsall of Fareham, relating to the Crimea War: ‘I have not yet seen the arrival of the Trafalgar in the paper… I had not heard from my lazy boy for some time… He has however the last month been very industrious for no less than five letters he has written in February. The last date was the 22nd off Eupatoria. He says the Russians attacked this place on the 17th. He got underweigh [sic] and had some firing at the Russians. The Turks fought very well. The Russians lost about 300 men’, together with an 1851 and an 1854 cover posted to Lieut. T.M. Kelsall on board the H.M.S. Trafalgar.
