British and Continental Ceramics

Three Richard Dennis exhibition pottery invitations, comprising a Wedgwood jasperware circular plaque, entitled 'Sun and Wind', a Pilkington's Royal Lancastrian tile and a child's alphabet plate, printed in black 'E Is For Exhibition', each made out to 'Peter and Albert', together with a Poole Pottery memento celebrating the publication of 'POOLE POTTERY' in 1995.

A Bernard Moore flambé glazed model of a dog of Fo, circa 1904, modelled in leaping pose, raised on a naturalistic base, printed marks to base, height 24cm (both back legs repaired), together with a Mintons rectangular blank plaque, painted by Bernard Moore in flambé, green and lustre glazes with a Viking ship, black printed and impressed marks, 15cm x 11cm, framed (cracked).

A Haviland & Co Art Nouveau Chaplet stoneware vase, circa 1885, the textured brown ground ovoid body incised, painted and applied with blossom branches and leaves, enamelled and gilt, beneath a similarly decorated brown glazed neck, impressed and incised marks to base, height 28.5cm (chips to foot), together with a similarly decorated small Haviland jug, height 11.3cm.

A Haviland & Co Art Nouveau Chaplet stoneware vase, circa 1885, decorated by Edouard-Alexandre Dammouse, monogrammed, the ovoid body with a crane standing amidst a continuous band of lotus leaves and blossom, heightened in black and brown enamels and gilding, against a brown ground, impressed and incised marks to base, height 29cm (faults).

A Derek Davis studio pottery stoneware vase, of bulbous shape with purple glazed neck over pink above bands of oatmeal and blue, painted mark to base, height 11cm, together with a Derek Davis brown speckled green glazed cylindrical vase, height 9.8cm, and another studio pottery vase.

A Moorcroft Grape and Leaf pattern dish, 1928-1935, impressed mark, facsimile signature and painted signature to base, diameter 24.2cm.

An Anita Harris studio pottery charger, decorated with stylized tulips against a deep purple ground, printed and painted marks to base, diameter 40.5cm.

A Stevenson & Hancock Derby figure group, late 19th century, modelled as Dr Syntax up a tree sheltering from a bull, his wig, hat and book on the ground, raised on a naturalistic base, iron red painted mark to base, height 17.5cm (minor faults).

A Doulton Lambeth stoneware Queen Victoria 1837-1897 commemorative jug, decorated in relief with a young Victoria and an old Victoria within a motto 'Lasting Good She Wrought Her People', impressed marks to base, height 22.5cm, together with a smaller matching Doulton Lambeth commemorative jug, height 15cm.

A Royal Worcester figure of the Queen in celebration of her 80th birthday, height 23cm, a Royal Doulton figure Diana, Princess of Wales, and a mixed group of other ceramics, including other Royal Doulton figures, a plate mounted harvest jug and a pair of Sitzendorf figures (some faults and restoration).

Eight Royal Doulton figures, comprising Blithe Morning, HN2065, Victorian Lady, HN728, Jean, HN2032, Sweet Sixteen, HN3648, Linda, HN2106, Belle, HN3703, Polly Peachum, HN549, and Lady Charmian, HN1948.

Two Cantagalli maiolica candlesticks, late 19th century, each modelled as a winged mythical creature wearing armour, supported on a fish above a circular base with foliate detail, the sconces modelled as upturned helmets, blue painted marks to bases, height 36cm (some restoration), together with a Cantagalli lustre ewer in the form of a dolphin, height 26cm (repaired).

A Minton majolica jug, mid to late 19th century, relief moulded with oval portraits of a train driver and a carriage driver beneath the inscription 'PRESENT, PAST, THE TWO DRIVERS', flanked by images of their transport modes, unmarked, height 23cm, together with a Wedgwood majolica caterer jug and a Brownfield jar and cover in the form of a sack of biscuits being eaten by two mice (faults and restoration).

A Coalport porcelain fluted part tea service, late 18th century, with cobalt blue and floral gilt decoration, comprising teapot, cover and stand, sucrier and cover, cream jug, nine teacups and seven saucers, six coffee cans and saucers and two dishes, together with a Newhall porcelain part tea service, late 18th/early 19th century, pattern number 171, comprising teapot and cover and four teabowls and saucers.

A small group of decorative ceramics, including a Royal Doulton Coral Strand D5967 pattern two-handled vase, two Paragon loving cups commemorating the coronation of King Edward VIII and King George VI, and two Mason Ironstone limited edition plates.

A mixed group of Minton Naturalist Service wares, circa 1870, designed by William Stephen Coleman in the Aesthetic style, based on Japanese prints and decorated with random arrangements of birds, fish, insects and plants, including a square shaped jardinière and stand, height 18cm, a leaf shaped dish with moulded crab foot to the underside, length 21cm, three pierced rim plates, a circular stand and nine plates, various printed, painted and impressed marks (faults).

Four Royal Doulton figures, comprising Sir Edward, HN2370, The Centurion, HN2726, Tall Story, HN2248, and Lambing Time, mis-stamped as 'The Balloon Man HN1954', together with two Royal Doulton character jugs, a Lladro gres figure Time to Go, No. 2389, and a Coalport Characters limited edition figure group Picnic on the Moon, No. 1572 of 2000, with certificate and box.
