A large Ridgway bluish-mauve earthenware two-handled vase, circa 1835-40, the octagonal baluster body relief moulded, enamelled and gilt with a range of foliate scrollwork, zoomorphic beasts and fountains in black, cream and white, the neck flanked by gilt handles, iron red painted pattern No. 215 to base, height 39.5cm, a matching smaller example, height 25cm, a similar vase, decorated with chinoiserie figures, flowers and emblems, and two other smaller examples, height 20cm. Provenance: from the collection of the late Graham and Rhiannon Berridge.
