An early 18th walnut longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch brass breakarch dial with silvered boss to arch, inscribed 'William Barrow London', above a silvered chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals and outer Arabic minutes, framing a matt centre with silvered subsidiary seconds, engraved birds and scrolls and date aperture, all cornered with cast and pierced gilt spandrels, the hood with moulded pediment above pierced fret panels, an arch glazed door and a pair of turned columns, the trunk with arched door above a plain base and plinth, height 222cm (alterations and restoration), with pendulum and a pair of brass cased weights. Note: William Barrow is a recorded London clockmaker, apprenticed in 1700 and made free of the Clockmakers' Company in 1710. He died in 1736.
