Glassware

A mixed group of Peloton glassware, Stourbridge and Bohemian, late 19th century, including an opal cased pink ground biscuit barrel with plated mounts, height to top of finial 14cm, a similar white ground example, two graduated square shaped jugs, 21.5cm and 15.5cm high, a two-handled vase and a pink ground posy bowl with diamond air trap detail, raised on tooled clear feet beneath the crimped rim, diameter 10.5cm. A set of four Val St. Lambert harlequin hock wine glasses, the cut bowls coloured cranberry, amethyst, dark green and lime green, engraved marks to feet, height 19cm, together with an intaglio cut hock wine glass with lime green bowl, height 20.5cm, and two other glasses. A mixed group of Arts and Crafts glassware, late 19th and early 20th century, mostly in green and dark amber colours, including a pair of Powell type finger bowls and stands, diameter of stands 17.5cm, a set of five square shaped finger bowls, three footed stands, height 14.5cm, and a set of six plates, diameter 14.5cm (minor faults). A pair of craquelure ice glass comports, French or Bohemian, mid-19th century, the stems entwined with gilt decorated white snakes, height 21cm, together with a matching jug, height 30cm, and a similar jug entwined with a green snake, height 31cm. A mixed group of threaded Stourbridge glassware, with examples by Richardson and Stevens & Williams, late 19th century, including a decanter and stopper, height 24cm, a jug, height 16.5cm, a pair of fan vases, height 21cm, a comport, height 21.5cm, and a pair of champagne saucers. A mixed group of mostly Stourbridge air trap satin glassware, late 19th century, in a variety of colours, including vases, jugs, bowls and a basket in a range of designs, including quilted diamond, spots, chevrons and stripes, together with a Stevens & Williams Verre de Soie bowl with crimped rim in celadon green and orange with a turquoise interior, diameter 17.5cm (minor faults). Four craquelure ice glass jugs, French or Bohemian, mid-19th century, each entwined with a gilt decorated red snake, height of tallest 36cm, together with a matching comport and a trumpet shaped vase, height 34cm (minor faults). Provenance: from the collection of John and Poppy Stallebrass.

A group of mostly cranberry threaded Stourbridge glassware, late 19th century, with examples by Richardson and Stevens & Williams, including a pair of footed comports, height 12.5cm, a footed bowl with jewelled diamond design, diameter 18cm, an engraved carafe and a fan shaped vase, height 21.5cm. A craquelure ice glass matched part service, mid to late 19th century, each piece with gilt diamond or line detail, comprising three comports, two centrepieces with frosted dolphin stem supports, height 22cm, a jug, height 37.5cm, a vase, height 25.5cm, a bowl and cover in the form of a pear, various leaf and shell shaped dishes and a goblet, together with a green centrepiece with dolphin stem support. Provenance: from the collection of John and Poppy Stallebrass.

A mixed group of Stourbridge satin glass Coraline bead vases, late 19th century, cased in graduated pink, orange or pale blue over an opal interior, decorated with luminescent beads, comprising two pairs with a cross design, a pair and two singles with a wheat design, together with a small group of similarly decorated wares (minor faults). Provenance: from the collection of John and Poppy Stallebrass.

A satin glass diamond air trap jug, Stourbridge, late 19th century, the ruby red exterior with a petrol blue iridescent diamond pattern, cased in opal, with a frosted reeded handle, height 22cm, together with a small group of other satin air trap glass, including a large spotted pattern pink vase, height 23cm, an orange and yellow jug, a green vase, height 14cm, and a footed bowl, marked 'PATENT' to the underside, diameter 21cm (minor faults). Two Webb clear cut glass bowls, 1950s, designed by David Hammond, both cut with stylized fish and reeds over a controlled air bubble ground, footed example, diameter 22.3cm, other, diameter 22.5cm, both with acid etched mark to base, together with a mixed group of other mostly Webb glassware, including two vases, a decanter and stopper and two bowls in an amber bullseye pattern, and six Stuart sundae dishes, decorated with trees. Provenance: from the collection of John and Poppy Stallebrass.

A Peter Layton studio glass shell form bowl, later 20th century, the circular bowl base with off-centred sloping rim, with spirals of blue to the exterior and a stretched caramel interior, small windows of clear glass amidst the design, engraved signature to base, length 27.5cm. Note: this example is likely to be a prototype from the Giraffe range produced by Layton, for use as a lamp shade in the Giraffe Restaurants chain.

A Czechoslovakian glass scent bottle and stopper and matching atomiser, early 20th century, the red glass bodies of conical shape gilt with vermicule and foliage, height 14cm, together with four other scent bottles and stoppers.

A James Powell & Sons Whitefriars threaded ribbed shallow bowl, 1930s, pattern No. 7192, blue tinted and threaded on sea green, diameter 25.5cm, together with a matching vase, pattern No. 8757, height 20.8cm, and a larger bowl, diameter 41.5cm (foot reduced). A James Powell & Sons Whitefriars spiral ribbed bowl, 1940s, pattern No. 9274, in sapphire, diameter 27.3cm, together with two similar of ruby/amber colour, diameters 25.3cm and 24.8cm. Provenance: from the collection of John and Poppy Stallebrass.

A James Powell & Sons Whitefriars threaded vase, 1930s, pattern No. 8757, ruby tinted and threaded on a flint ground, height 20.5cm, together with a spiral ribbed bowl, 1940s, pattern No. 9274, in ruby and amber, diameter 27.5cm, and a similar larger sapphire bowl, diameter 31.5cm. Two glass vases in the style of Whitefriars, possibly Stevens & Williams, both of subtle vertically ribbed cylindrical shape, one with green horizontal spirals of colour, the other amber waves, height 24cm. Provenance: from the collection of John and Poppy Stallebrass.

An Orrefors flared glass bowl, first designed circa 1918 by Simon Gate, the clear body with cobalt blue flecks beneath a dark rim edge, engraved marks to base, diameter 25.5cm, together with three other Orrefors pieces with clear bodies and circular black feet, comprising a bowl by Edward Hald, diameter 24.5cm, a bowl by Simon Gate, diameter 24.8cm, and a vase, height 20cm.
