A collection of medals and militaria belonging to Gunner Arthur R. Horton, Royal Artillery, including a group of five Second World War awards, comprising Burma Star, 1939-45 Star, War Medal, Defence Medal and Territorial Efficiency Medal to '916956 Gnr. A.R. Horton R.A.', boxed with entitlement slip, his British army slouch hat with applied badges, a collection of private and personal photographs, a collection of press photographs, various related ephemera and a part-section of a yosegaki hinomaru or prayer flag, taken from a Japanese soldier by Arthur Horton during conflict, later split and shared with his friend as a trophy of war, with enclosed photograph taken at the time of capture picturing him with two of his comrades, together with a Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve service certificate to Cecil Horton, probably Arthur's father, who was awarded the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.
