A mid-18th century French gold, enamelled and colourless paste set triple cased keywind open-faced gentleman's repeater pocket watch by Jean Robert Soret, the signed fusee movement with verge escapement, pierced and engraved balance cock and plunge repeat with hammer striking a bell to inner case, the similarly inscribed gilt metal dust cover numbered '27559', the signed white enamelled convex dial with black Roman hour numerals and outer Arabic minutes, the case with pierced foliate fret panels to sides, the pair case with enamelled back, painted with a half-length portrait of a lady holding a mask, possibly representing Thalia, within a surround of colourless pastes, the gilt metal outer case with pierced and inset leather bands, total weight 104g, outer case diameter 4.8cm (faults).
