A Second World War period Japanese officer's katana with curved single-edged blade, blade length 69cm, the tang signed and stamped and with single peg hole piercing, gilt cast bronze tsuba, fabric tape bound fishskin grip with hidden cast bronze flowerhead menuki fitting, fuchi and kabuto-gane pommel with brown tassel/knot, the fuchi with spring loaded scabbard release, with brown painted metal scabbard (blade later cleaned and refinished).
