A fine Second World War period Japanese officer's katana with curved single-edged blade with fine even hamon, blade length 67cm, the signed tang with single peg hole piercing, cast bronze tsuba, fabric tape bound fishskin grip with partially hidden cast bronze flowerhead menuki fitting, fuchi and kabuto-gane with blue/brown company grade officer's tassel/knot, the fuchi with spring loaded scabbard release, with stitched leather covered wood scabbard with single ring suspension.
