LOT 1204
A George III inlaid mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 15-inch repainted breakarch dial with subsidiary seconds and date aperture, inscribed 'Atkinson Ormskirk', the hood with three brass ball finials above a swan neck pediment, arched door and turned columns, the trunk door with shaped top flanked by quarter columns, on ogee bracket feet, height 242cm, with pendulum, winder and two weights. Note: Thomas Atkinson is a recorded Lancastrian clockmaker working in Ormskirk and Lancaster between 1767 and 1786.
