Two relief moulded portrait tiles designed by George Cartlidge, circa 1905, the first depicting Field Marshall Sir Douglas Haig, after a photograph by Elliot & Fry Ltd, by J.H. Barratt, the second by Sherwin & Cotton depicting a well-dressed lady, both 23cm by 15cm, together with four photographic tiles by the Photo Decorated Tile Co. depicting named topographical views, another Photo Decorated Tile Co. tile depicting 'Milking Time' after Landseer, three others depicting Classical statues of female nudes, and a small group of other tiles printed or painted with views or scenes, including four designed by John White printed in blue with named London landmarks. A mixed group of tiles, 1930s to mid-20th century, including a Queen Ann series Packard & Ord example depicting a boy with a pond yacht, designed and probably painted by Sylvia Packard, five Dunsmore tiles designed by Polly Brace stencilled with a parrot, donkeys, a duck and fish, each 15.3cm square, three small Pilkington’s tiles painted with galleons, each 10cm square, a similar Pilkington’s training room example painted with a windmill, a Packard & Ord example painted with a mother and child probably by Rosalind Ord, framed, a blue painted example with a windmill by George Wooliscroft & Son, a German stencilled tile depicting a blue windmill by Grohner Wandplatten Fabriek, a small Ablett Bell & Co. example painted with a child holding balloons, and a screen printed tile by the Purbeck Decorative Tile Co. depicting a garden scene, designed by Sir John Bowman, 10cm square. Two small Art Deco De Porceleyne Fles Cloisonne tiles for Ablett Bell & Co., circa 1935, both depicting a windmill, 10.5cm square, a rectangular Dordrecht tile tubelined with a galleon, 15cm by 10cm, a similar German example with a galleon, 19.5cm by 10cm, and a group of other mainly 1930s and mid-20th century tiles primarily decorated with galleons, including one by T. & R. Boote with lustre finish, 13cm square, an H. & R. Johnson example 20cm by 10cm and two smaller Johnson examples, three by Packard & Ord, 15.3cm square, two by H. & G. Thynne and two by Carter Tiles from the Blue Ships series. Provenance: Blanchett Collection.

Two slip cast pottery advertising candle holders in the form of elephants, made for Ablett Bell & Co. by De Porceleyne Fles, 1930s, modelled standing with a mottled green glaze and resist foliate and scroll detail, height 14cm. Note: these elephants were a promotional line produced by De Porceleyne Fles for Ablett Bell & Co., who were the UK distributors of the cloisonné tiles De Porceleyne Fles produced. They were intended to be displayed on mantle shelves in distributor’s showrooms above fireplaces displaying the De Porceleyne Fles tile range.  Provenance: Blanchett Collection.

A mixed group of approximately forty-five tiles, late 19th and early 20th century, the majority relief moulded or with tubelined decoration, including a five tile panel of stylized Art Nouveau flowers on long leafy stems against a cream ground, and a similar green ground three tile panel, each tile 15.3cm square (minor faults). A Maw & Co. Floreat Salopia rectangular tile, circa 1885, painted in Barbotine style with a branch of white hibiscus, 30cm by 15cm, a later Maw tubelined majolica tile decorated with a hedgehog, framed, 24.5cm square, two relief moulded foliate tiles attributed to Frederick Garrard, 15cm square, a Medmenham foliate tile, and a small group of encaustic and dust pressed tiles, including examples by Campbell and Minton, in a variety of sizes, smallest 5cm square, and thirteen small tile samples by Ferrolite Ceramic Tiles, in their original box. A Dunsmore four tile panel, 1930s, probably designed by Polly Brace, painted with a titled depiction of Tantallon Castle, each tile 10cm square, a similar Dunsmore four tile panel also probably by Polly Brace, three H. & R. Johnson tiles painted with titled nursery rhyme figures, a 1930s Ablett Bell & Co. nursery rhyme tile depicting a scene from Sing a Song of Sixpence, a Hereford blank tile by Florian screen printed with a galleon, probably designed by Angela Goshen, framed, and a small group of other tiles including one by Purbeck Decorative Tile Co., circa 1954, designed by John Bowman, celebrating the Olympic gold medal win by Col. Llewellyn on his horse Foxhunter, framed. Provenance: Blanchett Collection.

Seven Badger Pottery tile panels designed and painted/stencilled by Geoff Beeston, comprising an eight tile panel depicting a duck, an eight tile panel of a pheasant, an eight tile panel of deer in a woodland, six tile panel of a sheep, four tile panel of a cockerel, six tile panel of two dolphins and a four tile panel of a duck, each on Johnson blanks, each individual tile 15.3cm square, together with a small group of mixed tiles designed by Edward Pond for Kenneth Clark Ceramics for the Plymouth underpass. A large assorted mixed collection of fireplace tiles, spacers and moulded sections, mainly post-war, in a variety of mottled and plain glazes, including examples by Candy and Campbell Tile Co., together with a quantity of turquoise glazed Islamic screen tiles in a variety of pierced designs, produced in Tehran during the 1930s for the restoration of a mosque (some faults). A small commemorative pottery tile, circa 1911, probably Waldo Lanchester, commemorating the coronation of King George and Queen Mary, 10cm square, a relief moulded and hand painted tile by Dunsmore depicting Invicta, circa 1933, designed and modelled by Polly Brace, 15.3cm square, a similar Dunsmore tile designed by Polly Brace, painted with an heraldic emblem, and another Dunsmore tile painted with a titled view of Buckingham Palace, 15.3cm square, together with a small group of later 20th century mainly studio pottery tiles, including two by Paul Gooderham, 1990s, incised with sunset views, both framed, largest 24cm by 29cm, a similar tile by Liz Boyle, three by The Buchlyvie Pottery, Stirling, Scotland, depicting a boat, designed and painted by Alison Borthwick, a swan and yachts, three by Royce Wood, two by Jason Shakleton and two by Andrew Fisher. A Caesar Manrique art tile, dated 1985, depicting the Campesina peasant man, framed, 23cm square, a Jean and Rhys Powell three tile panel designed by Jean Powell on H & R Johnson blanks, painted and gilt with an abstract figure, each tile 11cm square, two Peter Carvel tiles designed by Bernard S. Goldbey, framed, and a set of seven tiles painted with different fruits and vegetables within black painted edges, 15.3cm square. Provenance: Blanchett Collection.

A large mixed group of assorted tiles, tile panels and tiled trays, mostly 20th century, majority framed, including two by Florian Studios printed with limericks and comical pictures, a Packard & Ord example painted in shades of blue with yachts, a Catherine Smith example painted with a view of Windermere, two painted by H. Betteley, signed, an American Encaustic Tiling Co. example with a relief moulded floral roundel, a similar cream glazed tile with floral moulding, a Packard & Ord six tile tray painted with fish and an eight tile tray by Peter Carvel printed with ducks in flight (some faults). A four tile oak planter, early 20th century, of square shape, each face with an H & R Johnson green glazed tile with relief moulded Art Nouveau floral decoration, fitted with a metal liner, height 23.5cm, together with a framed Sherwin & Cotton green glazed tile relief moulded with a Viking ship, a Marsden Tile Co. stencilled slip blue glazed tile decorated with an Art Nouveau flower, framed, a two tile panel depicting an Arts & Crafts style coat of arms, framed, another four tile panel, framed, 34.5cm square, and a Medmenham Pottery three tile panel designed by Conrad Dressler, framed, 36.5cm by 11.3cm. An Art Nouveau tile panel, early 20th century, of rectangular shape formed from a combination of mounted square tiles and rectangular spacers, decorated with blue iris flowers and green leaves within a thin green frame against a blue ground, 91cm long by 29cm, a similar tile panel with Arts & Crafts style foliate wreath and ribbon decoration against an olive green ground, 92cm by 23cm, another with roses hung from a pink ribbon, a large Doulton brown glazed foliate moulded fireplace hood tile section of curved rectangular shape, specifically for the Empire No. 2 fireplace, 51cm by 40.5cm, two other smaller tile panels with Art Nouveau flower decoration against a cream ground and two further red glazed tile panels (some faults). A Dunsmore fifteen tile panel titled Sea-Gulls, circa 1928, probably designed and painted by Polly Brace, oak framed and with original paper label to the reverse from the Dunsmore showrooms, Campden Hill, London, 84.5cm by 54cm, together with a twelve tile panel painted by Christina Casement, signed and dated 1998, with a cockerel, hen and chicks, framed, 72cm by 56cm, and a three tile panel by Mary Liebermann depicting butterflies amidst ivy, framed. Two Susan and Douglas Dalgleish Edinburgh Ceramics tile panels, 1990s, the first a twelve tile panel depicting elephants, zebra and giraffes in an African savanna setting, framed, 68cm by 53cm, the second a nine tile panel depicting zebra, framed, 52cm by 53cm, together with a Geoff Beeston Badger Pottery six tile panel stencilled and painted with a pig, framed, 49cm by 33cm, and five other tile panels, each framed. An eighteen tile panel printed with a chinoiserie landscape, mid-20th century, mounted on a board, 92cm by 46cm, a six tile panel, probably Poole Pottery, depicting an Art Nouveau lady with peacocks, framed, 54cm by 38.5cm, a large Copeland rectangular tile painted with a house by a river, impressed mark to reverse, 97.5cm by 26cm, a two-section wooden framed folding fire screen mounted with sixteen quartered Belgian tiles by Gilliot Frères, circa 1915, decorated in blue with Dutch scenes and figures, height 91cm, three large rectangular Copeland & Garrett Watteau style tiles, circa 1840, printed and painted with romantic couples in period dress by follies and waterfalls beneath foliate wreaths and gilt scrollwork, each 89.5cm by 20.5cm, and two other framed tile panels (some faults). A group of tiles designed by Kenneth Clark and Ann Wynn Reeves, 1970s, in the Carnival pattern, comprising four panels each formed from four 15.3cm square tiles, together with a small group of other Kenneth Clark tiles, comprising three two tile panels in the Mediterranean Coriander pattern, a 1960s example of a numeral tile in the form of a number eight, and a four tile panel depicting a stylized peacock painted by Kenneth Clark’s six year old daughter Camilla.
