A mixed group of tiles, 1930s to mid-20th century, including a Queen Ann series Packard & Ord example depicting a boy with a pond yacht, designed and probably painted by Sylvia Packard, five Dunsmore tiles designed by Polly Brace stencilled with a parrot, donkeys, a duck and fish, each 15.3cm square, three small Pilkington’s tiles painted with galleons, each 10cm square, a similar Pilkington’s training room example painted with a windmill, a Packard & Ord example painted with a mother and child probably by Rosalind Ord, framed, a blue painted example with a windmill by George Wooliscroft & Son, a German stencilled tile depicting a blue windmill by Grohner Wandplatten Fabriek, a small Ablett Bell & Co. example painted with a child holding balloons, and a screen printed tile by the Purbeck Decorative Tile Co. depicting a garden scene, designed by Sir John Bowman, 10cm square. A small commemorative pottery tile, circa 1911, probably Waldo Lanchester, commemorating the coronation of King George and Queen Mary, 10cm square, a relief moulded and hand painted tile by Dunsmore depicting Invicta, circa 1933, designed and modelled by Polly Brace, 15.3cm square, a similar Dunsmore tile designed by Polly Brace, painted with an heraldic emblem, and another Dunsmore tile painted with a titled view of Buckingham Palace, 15.3cm square, together with a small group of later 20th century mainly studio pottery tiles, including two by Paul Gooderham, 1990s, incised with sunset views, both framed, largest 24cm by 29cm, a similar tile by Liz Boyle, three by The Buchlyvie Pottery, Stirling, Scotland, depicting a boat, designed and painted by Alison Borthwick, a swan and yachts, three by Royce Wood, two by Jason Shakleton and two by Andrew Fisher. An eighteen tile panel printed with a chinoiserie landscape, mid-20th century, mounted on a board, 92cm by 46cm, a six tile panel, probably Poole Pottery, depicting an Art Nouveau lady with peacocks, framed, 54cm by 38.5cm, a large Copeland rectangular tile painted with a house by a river, impressed mark to reverse, 97.5cm by 26cm, a two-section wooden framed folding fire screen mounted with sixteen quartered Belgian tiles by Gilliot Frères, circa 1915, decorated in blue with Dutch scenes and figures, height 91cm, three large rectangular Copeland & Garrett Watteau style tiles, circa 1840, printed and painted with romantic couples in period dress by follies and waterfalls beneath foliate wreaths and gilt scrollwork, each 89.5cm by 20.5cm, and two other framed tile panels (some faults). Provenance: Blanchett Collection.
