A late 19th century Black Forest walnut cased trumpeter wall/table clock by Emilian Wehrle & Co, the three train brass four pillar movement striking hours on a coiled gong and sounding two crank driven bellows, whilst revealing two trumpeters emerging through a pair of doors, the bellows with applied 'E.W. Co' maker's label, the 8-inch brass dial with black gothic Roman hour numerals, the case with turned spindle gallery and lyre surmount above a pair of columns, pierced hinge fret panels to sides and pair of opening doors with turned spindle gallery to front, on a moulded rectangular base, height 112cm, with pendulum, and two winders. Note: Emilian Wehrle (1832-1896) was a reputed Black Forest clockmaker, famous for his high quality musical clocks. These included the trumpeter, flute, singing bird and rooster clock, which were exported worldwide, primarily to the United States and Great Britain.
