Circle of John Ferneley - Frederick Bateman on horseback in a landscape, oil on canvas, inscribed on label verso 'Frederick Bateman the youngest of Nine and seventh son of Colthurst Bateman of Bertholey House, County of Monmouth', 48.5cm x 59cm, within a gilt composition frame. Note: in the dunes of Condette, near Hardelot, Northern France, there is an obelisk to commemorate Frederick Bateman, who died on that spot aged 22 in October 1847, after an accidental discharge of his rifle.

British School (early 19th century) - Group portrait of three young ladies: Elizabeth, Rosa and Augusta Spottiswoode, before Spottiswoode House; Group portrait of two young men, William Spottiswoode b.1825 and George Spottiswoode b.1827, a pair, oil on canvas, each 43cm x 33cm, within foliate gilt plaster frames (2). Note: the children depicted are the grandchildren of John Spottiswoode (b.1741). Spottiswoode House was demolished in 1938. William Spottiswoode (1825-1883) is buried in Westminster Abbey.

Italian School (17th century) - Kneeling man in a landscape, probably Saint Jerome, 17th century pen with ink and wash on laid paper, with collector’s stamp, 13cm x 11.5cm, within an ebonized wood frame. Note: the flowered capital 'C' collector's stamp (Lugt 474) was previously attributed to Queen Christina of Sweden and later Pierre Crozat. In 2021, however, Julian Brooks was able to connect the drawings bearing this mark with the collection gathered by Charles Paul Jean-Baptiste de Bourgevin Vialart, Count of Saint-Morys, during his exile in England, later sold by his son Charles Étienne Bourgevin Vialart, Count of Carrière (1772-1817). It is believed that the stamp was applied for the 1797 sale of the collection of drawings belonging to Count de Carriere held at Henry Philips, New Bond Street, London.
