James Gillray – ‘French Generals retiring, on account of their health; with Lepaux presiding in the Directorial Dispensary’, etching with engraving and hand-colouring, from the Mclean edition circa 1830, sheet size 29cm x 42cm, together with six other 19th century satirical engravings and lithographs.

Renold or Reginold Elstrack – King Richard III, 17th century engraving with etching, 17cm x 11cm, within an ebonized wood frame, together with nine 17th and 18th century portrait engravings by different hands, including three examples by Paulus Pontius after Anthony van Dyck from the ‘Iconographie’ series.

Circle of Jacobus Houbraken – ‘Sir Henry Morgan Governor of Jamaica’, 17th century etching on laid paper, 35cm x 24cm, within an ebonized frame. Note: Sir Henry Morgan was a Welsh privateer, plantation owner and, later, Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica. This scarce portrait engraving (of which we can find no other examples), includes a depiction of the 1669 sacking of Maracaibo, Venezuela, by Morgan (whose name was later adopted to advertise a popular brand of rum).

Norman Hirst – Ploughing on the South Downs, mezzotint on wove paper, signed in pencil and with blindstamp, published circa 1924, sheet size 28.5cm x 39cm, together with another signed mezzotint by the same hand and a small collection of 18th and 19th century prints, including lithographs by Samuel Prout.

William Walcot – Downtown Manhattan from the East River, etching on wove paper, published circa 1924, sheet size 37cm x 25cm.

Charles Maurice Detmold and Edward Julius Detmold – ‘Sixteen Illustrations of subjects from Kipling’s Jungle Book’, sixteen mounted chromolithographs, each with printed page of descriptive text, published by Macmillan & Co. 1903, each sheet size 54.5cm x 39.5cm, within original cloth covered portfolio with gilt titles.

Arthur Wallis, after Thomas Yeakell and William Gardner – ‘Brighthelmston’ (Brighton, Sussex), lithograph, published circa 1830, 34.5cm x 31cm, within a maple frame.

Albert Chevallier Tayler – ‘Mr Percy Perrin’, ‘E.G. Arnold’, ‘W. Lees’, ‘Mr H. Martyn’, ‘Mr C.J. Burnup’ and ‘Mr W.H.B. Evans’ (Cricketers), six lithographs in colours, published by Gilbert Whitehead & Co. 1905, each 37cm x 24cm, all within matching stained wood frames.
