First World War Poster - ‘German Words and German Deeds’, poster, published by J. Weiner Ltd, London, 76cm x 50cm, unframed, together with two further posters, ‘The World’s Verdict on Germany’ and ‘De Britsche Marine in Oorlog’, both unframed (3). Note: a copy of this poster is in the collection of The Imperial War Museum.

Frank Brangwyn (British 1867-1956) - ‘Men on the March, Pipes & Tobacco League', lithographic poster, printed by The Avenue Press Ltd, Bouverie Street London, 98cm x 60cm, within a black frame. Note: although not an Official War Artist, Brangwyn produced over 80 poster designs during the war, donating most of them to various charities. This one to the Pipes & Tobacco League established to send tobacco to the men on the front. “A Red Cross worker in France writes to us: “I know now how greatly the Fighters need Tobacco””.

After Beric Young (British 1902-1963) - World War II Harmonisation posters for infantry rifle training, English Set Fig. 3, designed in 1942 by Beric Young for the War Office, printed by J. Weiner Ltd., London WC1, colour lithographs, twelve copies, each 60.5cm x 150.5cm, all unframed (12).

United States Office of War Information, London - ‘Fuori I Tedeschi!’ (Out with the Germans!), poster printed in London, almost certainly to be shipped to Italy for posting in liberated towns and cities, folded in twelve, 57cm x 38.5cm, unframed.

Russian School (mid-20th century) - ‘Eradicate Evil?’, anti-alcohol poster, published Moscow 1959, 93cm x 56.5cm, together with ‘The Fiesta de toros in Spain’, travel poster, Juan Rues, both unframed (2).

Kukryniksy, c.1950? - ‘Chair Man/Bureaucrat - He is in the thick of things but was not efficient. Who is this leader now? In front of us is furniture’; ’The Dragonfly’; ‘The Thief - a Particularly Harmful Person’; ‘A Familiar Insect’, four Russian satirical posters, each 65cm x 47cm, all unframed. Note: the Kukryniksy were three caricaturists/cartoonists in the USSR with a recognisable style. 'Kukryniksy' is a collective name, which is derived from the names of three caricaturists: Mikhail Kupriyanov, Porfiri Krylov and Nikolai Sokolov.
