A Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase by Kizan, Meiji period, of waisted lozenge section, thickly enamelled in gosu blue, red, green and gilt with chrysanthemum in a fenced garden within simulated brocade borders, gilt signature and red enamelled Shimazu mon to base, height 21.6cm, together with a similarly decorated Japanese Satsuma vase by Hogetsu, Meiji period, decorated with butterflies, iris and a stream, gilt signature, blue enamelled Shimazu mon and red seal mark to base, height 21.8cm (crack to body).
