Clocks and Barometers

An early Victorian Norwich style flame mahogany trunk dial wall clock with eight day two-train movement, the 14-inch painted circular dial with black Roman hour numerals and inscribed 'Condliffe Liverpool', the octagonal surround above reeded mouldings and a rectangular trunk door, height 146cm, with pendulum and two weights. Note: James Condliffe is a recorded clockmaker working in Liverpool between 1813 and 1862.

A 20th century lacquered brass circular ship's style wall timepiece, the white enamelled dial with black Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and slow/fast indicator and inscribed 'Sestrel', case diameter 20.3cm, together with a 20th century small lacquered brass cased Sestrel Alarm ship's style wall clock, case diameter 13.2cm.

A mid-19th century French Great Exhibition engraved brass skeleton clock, the eight day single barrel movement with silk suspension and striking on a bell located under the base, the circular enamelled chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals, the 'Y' frame engraved with foliate scrolls, the brass base plate detailed 'Ms Honorables Exp.Paris.Londres', on an ebonized oval base, total height 22.5cm, with pendulum (partially dissassembled and faults).

An early 18th century eight day longcase clock movement and 12-inch brass dial, with later George III oak case, the eight day movement striking on a bell, the dial with matt centre, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, framed by a chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals and inscribed 'Walt Brodhurst Lichfield', cornered with putti and orb spandrels, the later case with inlaid trunk door and plinth base, height 205cm, with pendulum, two weights and winder.

A George III inlaid mahogany diminutive longcase clock with eight day movement striking hours on a bell, the 10-inch square brass dial with silvered chapter ring, matt centre and silvered date aperture, the hood with swan neck pediment and glazed door flanked by fluted columns, the slender trunk with crossbanded rectangular door flanked by a pair of corner columns, on bracket feet, height 193cm, with pendulum and two weights.

A George III figured mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 14-inch painted breakarch dial with rolling moon to the arch above Arabic hour numerals, inner date ring and subsidiary seconds, inscribed 'W. Holland Chester', cornered by four allegorical figures representing the four seasons, the hood with swan neck pediment above a glazed door and cluster columns, the triple arched trunk door flanked by corner cluster columns, on a cut cornered base and ogee bracket feet, height 240cm, with pendulum, two weights and winder. Note: William Holland is a recorded clockmaker working from his King Street premises in Chester from 1795 until his death in 1829.

A William IV Scottish inlaid mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 13-inch painted breakarch dial with gilt decoration, black Roman hour numerals, subsidiary date and seconds dials, inscribed 'Ts Pringle Dalkeith', the hood with swan neck pediment, glazed door and fluted columns, the arched trunk door flanked by reeded corner columns, on bracket feet, height 216cm, with pendulum, two weights and winder. Note: Thomas Pringle is a recorded Scottish clockmaker working in Dalkeith circa 1830-36.

A George V oak diminutive longcase clock with eight day movement chiming on gongs, the 7½-inch brass breakarch dial with silver 'Tempus Fugit' boss to arch above a silvered chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals, the hood with moulded arch pediment and glazed door, the trunk with applied mouldings and rectangular door, on a panelled base and bracket feet, height 173cm, with pendulum.

An early 19th century oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch square painted dial with black Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials, cornered with flowers and inscribed 'Burton Kendal', the hood with moulded pediment, glazed door and turned columns above an arched trunk door, flanked by a pair of corner columns, on a plain base, height 193cm, with pendulum and two weights.

A 20th century German walnut longcase clock with three train chiming movement, the 10-inch brass breakarch dial with silvered 'Tempus Fugit' boss to arch, the hood with glazed door and turned pillars above a rectangular trunk door with glazed lenticle, height 221cm, with pendulum and three weights, together with another longcase clock, height 183cm, with pendulum and weight.

A late 19th century French brown patinated bronze, ormolu and white marble mantel clock with eight day movement striking on a bell via an outside countwheel, the white enamelled dial with black Roman hour numerals, the case surmounted with Cupid and putto, on a breakfront base, height 46cm, with pendulum and winding key.

A George III line inlaid mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch brass breakarch dial with HMS Victory automaton to the arch, within a silvered surround titled 'The Victory', above a silvered chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals and outer Arabic minutes, framing a matt centre with silvered subsidiary seconds, date aperture and arched plaque inscribed 'Thos Wilmshurst Deal', cornered with cast and pierced gilt spandrels, the arched hood with brass eagle and ball finials above a glazed door and turned columns, the trunk with rectangular door, on a panelled base and bracket feet, height 233cm, with pendulum and two weights.
