Photographs, Autographs and Ephemera

SCRAP ALBUM. A late Victorian scrap album, including mounted scraps and prints and a single original watercolour of a family group in the style of Kate Greenaway, together with a hand-written journal of a tour in Europe illustrated with mounted postcards.

EPHEMERA. A passport awarded to Louis Kuhling 'a naturalized British subject, travelling on the Continent' dated June 1851, 35cm x 23.5cm, within a leather wallet, together with 'A Inventory of the Household Goods & Furniture of Christopher Jefferson Esq'r Deceased' dated 1748 and a collection of other ephemera.

PHOTOGRAPHS. A collection of approximately 145 stereoscopic viewing cards, including topographical views of Britain, Europe and America.

CORNWALL. A collection of 30 topographical views of Cornwall by James Valentine, prints measuring approximately 20 x 15.5cm, all numbered and titled, including 'Coinage Hall Street, Helston', 'Penrhyn Quarries', 'Penwith House, and Land's End Restaurant' and 'Telegraph Station, Porth Curnow'.

PHOTOGRAPHS, MILITARY. Two albums containing 44 mounted official First World War photographs, measuring 19 x 14cm, including views captioned 'An airship escorts a convoy', 'British attack on the Somme. Sailly Laurette captured by the 10th London Regt.', 'Lancers of the 1st Cavalry division entering Mametz the 1st German town over the frontier. 1.12.18' and 'Showing how our Navy completely blocked the channel at Zeebrugge with the Iphigenia and Intrepid'.

ALBUMS. A collection of nine albums and sketchbooks containing drawings and watercolours, the majority by Caroline Mansel, mid-19th century, together with a crest and monogram album and a small group of loose artwork.

PHOTOGRAPHS. An album containing ten photographs, newspaper cuttings and ephemera relating to the naval Training Ship Stork, together with an album of mounted small format photographs titled 'HMS Glorious', a booklet titled 'Training Ship Exmouth Off Grays, Essex' and two folders of similar naval interest.

EPHEMERA. An autograph letter signed by artist B. Eyre Walker, to Messrs Sydney Harpin's Sons regarding retailing etchings of Bideford, together with a group of other letters, including one from artist Charles Napier Hemy, a legal document dated 1899 and a group of artwork relating to the animator C.H. Barton.

CANARY ISLANDS. A collection of photographs, booklets, souvenirs and other ephemera relating to the Canary Islands, most 20th century, including an album of photographs titled 'Tenerife Santa Cruz de Tenerife Capital de Las Islas Canarias', another titled 'Las Palmas, Grand Canary' and a photograph of a carnival in 1928.

EPHEMERA. A collection of programmes, booklets and photographs, including an 'Official Photographic View Book, Festival of Empire & Pageant of London, 1911', a Surrey Rambler flyer and a 1959/1960 Gaumont Theatre Humpty-Dumpty Pantomime programme.

EPHEMERA. An album containing approximately 76 cartes-de-visite and cabinet size photographs, all portraits, together with further photograph albums, a Henry Cooper autographed photograph, other autographs and ephemera.

PHOTOGRAPHS, SURREY. A collection of approximately 60 photographs of topographical and social history scenes in Surrey in three albums and loose, circa 1870-1920, including topographical views of Halliford, Sutton, Chertsey, Woking, Guildford, Haslemere, Sheppereton, Leatherhead, Long Cross, Kingston-on-Thames, Surbiton, Claygate and Weybridge.

PHOTOGRAPHS. A leather-bound album containing mounted photographs, some European views, the majority scenes of English country houses, including Tetworth Hall Sandy, Manor House Baconsthorpe, Christ Church Oxford, Glemham Hall Wickham Market and Earsham Hall Bungay, circa 1900-1905, together with a small group of loose pencil sketches and ephemera.

PHOTOGRAPHS. Two albums containing approximately 515 mounted photographs and 5 watercolour sketches, the majority family portraits, including J. Martineau, Lord Methuen and Lady Lawrence, circa 1890-1910.

PHOTOGRAPHS, SCOTLAND. A leather-bound album containing approximately 100 photographs of Scottish topographical views by James Valentine and George Washington Wilson, mounted one or two to a page, leaves 30 x 22.5cm, including photographs titled 'Argyle Street, Glasgow', 'Off Down the Water, Broomielaw, Glasgow', 'Princes Pier Greenock, River Boats Starting', and 'Oban from S,W. (Showing Railway Station)'.

JACK BUCHANAN. A signed and dedicated black and white photograph of Jack Buchanan, 29cm x 19cm, together with a group of photographs and ephemera relating to Buchanan, including a photograph dedicated to him by Douglas Fairbanks, a script by Peter Woodward and a photograph of Buchanan with Elsie Randolph.

PHOTOGRAPHS. A collection of various photographs and mounted ephemera in nineteen albums, the majority 20th century and small-format, including some of girl guiding interest.

SHERRIFF OF LONDON. A collection of ephemera relating to William Lacon Threlford, Sherriff of the City of London and founder of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, including letters, menus, programmes and invitations.

LEGAL DOCUMENT. A mid-17th century indenture on vellum between Elizabeth Large and other parties, 25cm x 37cm, hung with a wax seal, framed and glazed.
