Photographs, Autographs and Ephemera

PHOTOGRAPHS. An album containing 47 cartes-de-visite photographs, together with a folding leather frame containing 6 cabinet cards, approximately 112 loose cartes de visite photographs and 15 further cabinet cards.

PHOTOGRAPHS. An album containing approximately 70 postcards, the majority of social history interest, including scenes in Jamaica and Sri Lanka (when Ceylon), leaves 29.5cm x 23.5cm, the photographs various sizes, together with a small group of other photographs including cartes-de-visite and cabinet cards.

PHOTOGRAPHS. Two albums, one titled 'Memories of South Africa Oct 1926 - May 1926' and with the name 'D.W. Ravenhill', containing approximately 440 mounted black and white photographs of a trip to establish fruit and vegetable trade in South Africa by the firm Pouparts, leaves 29cm x 42cm, the majority of the photographs captioned.

LYON FAMILY. A collection of correspondence between Ben Lyon, Bebe Daniels and May Goldsmith, the majority typed letters signed (t.l.s.) but also a few autograph letters signed (a.l.s.), postcards, telegrams and greetings cards, 1950s to 1970s, covering a wide variety of subjects including travel arrangements between America and England, health, the death of Bebe, recordings, and friends and family, also including correspondence from other people, photographs and related ephemera.

PHOTOGRAPHS. A collection of approximately 217 mostly small-format photographs of aviation interest, most captioned, mid-20th century, together with an album containing approximately 91 postcards and a further album of family photographs.

FOOTBALL PROGRAMMES. A collection of football programmes, including many F.A. Cup Finals, including 1954 Preston North End v West Bromwich Albion, 1955 Manchester City v Newcastle United, 1956, Birmingham City v Manchester City, 1957 Aston Villa v Manchester United, 1958 Bolton Wanderers v Manchester United, 1959 Luton Town v Nottingham Forest, 1960 Blackburn Rovers v Wolverhampton Wanderers, 1961 Leicester City v Tottenham Hotspur, 1962 Burnley v Tottenham Hotspur, 1963 Leicester City v Manchester United, 1964 Preston North End v West Ham United, 1965 Leeds United v Liverpool, 1966 Everton v Sheffield Wednesday, 1967 Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur, 1968 Everton v West Bromwich Albion, 1969 Leicester City v Manchester City, 1970 Chelsea v Leeds United, and a European Champion Clubs' Cup 1968 Benfica FC v Manchester United.

AUTOMOBILIA. A collection of ephemera of motoring interest, including a copy of 'Motoritis' illustrated by Chas Crombie, photographs and advertisements.

AUTOMOBILIA. A collection of magazines of motoring interest, including 'The Autocar', 'The Hoosier Motorist', 'Englebert Magazine' and 'Motor', together with a small group of auction catalogues of related interest.

AUTOMOBILIA. A collection of brochures, trade catalogues and booklets relating to motor cars, including 'H.& T. Vaughan Limited... British Made Locks of Quality for the Motor Trade', 'Flat-rate Tool and Equipment Manual, authorized for Chevrolet', 'Fiat Ardita', 'Pierce-Arrow Special Touring Landau' and 'Pierce Arrow presents a new line of Heavy Duty Trucks'.

PHOTOGRAPHS. An album containing approximately 56 mounted albumen-print photographs mainly of Spain, some of Morocco and Tunisia, leaf size approximately 26.5 x 35cm.

PHOTOGRAPHS. A collection of approximately 45 photographs, the majority of social history and sport interest, all early 20th century.

ALBUM. A half-leather bound album containing approximately 43 watercolours and drawings by V. Downes and other amateur hands, 19th century, leaves 24.5cm x 18.5cm.

PHOTOGRAPHS. A collection of approximately 42 gelatin silver prints of fashion interest from the archives of Country Life magazine, circa 1979, 39cm x 30cm and smaller.

PHOTOGRAPHS. A collection of 40 stereoscopic viewing cards, mostly from the 1850s and 1860s, together with 18 stereoscopic glass slides.

CUNARD LINE. A printed letter addressed to Captain Gammons from Winston Churchill concerning the Hornsey by-election, together with two menus from RMS Queen Elizabeth dated 1956.

PHOTOGRAPHS. An album containing approximately 68 mounted photographs, all British topographical views, the majority captioned including 'Horn St, Sandgate', 'Old Barn, Barnham', 'Canal Hythe', 'Mill Westernhanger', 'Newington Village', 'East Lyn, Lynmouth', 'Lynmouth River' and 'Lynton', together with an album of small-format photographs of military interest.

PHOTOGRAPHS. The remnants of an album containing 19 albumen-print photographs of Madeira including views of Funshal, leaves 36cm x 26.5cm.

PHOTOGRAPH. A black and white photograph of a Triumph TR4 driving along a street-lit road, 1960s or 1970s, 32cm x 28cm, within an ebonized frame.

POSTERS. An auction poster for 'Chapel Barn, Temple Cowley, Near Oxford, The Stock-in-Trade of a Furniture and General Dealer', in November 1897, 75cm x 49.5cm, together with another similar poster for the sale of land near Banbury, both framed and glazed.
