Two Second World War period R.A.F. pilot's flying log books, compiled by T.C. Lewis, with entries from 22nd February 1942 to 27th March 1946 recording training and practice in Britain and America until October 1942, when operational with 247 Squadron, in October 1944 flying Typhoon IB, entries include 'R.P. attacks on bridge south of Meyel ... port side coop-top shot off by flak', transferred to 611 Squadron mainly flying Mustang IV, entry for April 16th 1945 'Ramrod: Swinemunde: Sweep Berlin ... Squadron destroyed 5 FW 190s, probables 2 in dog-fight', '611 Squadron disbanded 15th August 1945', transferred to 164 Squadron 31st August 1945, then to 124 Squadron flying Meteor III, last entry 27th March 1946, total hours flown 685 and 30mins, endorsement on last page 'W/O Lewis was reproved by me for gross carelessness in retracting his undercarriage before properly airborne in a Meteor III aircraft on 16th March 1946', indistinctly signed at 'Essex Sector H.Q. 15.4.46', together with a further unnamed pilot's flying log book, duplicating the second log book to 26th February 1946, a photograph of a group of ten pilots possibly being debriefed with a Mustang in the background, a photograph of a Meteor, etc.
