British and Continental Ceramics

A Staffordshire pottery part service, mid to late 19th century, decorated in a version of the Worcester Hop Trellis pattern, comprising teapot, cover and stand, sucrier and cover, milk jug, height 10.5cm, slop bowl, diameter 17.3cm, two cake plates, nine coffee cups, twelve teacups and ten saucers, painted pattern No. 782 (minor faults), together with an Adderleys Japan pattern Old Chelsea style part service, comprising thirteen teacups and saucers and ten small plates. Provenance: from the estate of a Sussex gentleman.

A George Jones & Sons Crescent China part service, early 20th century, with scroll moulded rims heightened in gilding above scattered gilt foliate sprigs to each rim border, pattern No. 19653, comprising eight dinner plates diameter 25.5cm, ten soup plates diameter 24cm, ten dessert plates diameter 22.5cm, nine tea plates diameter 18.5cm, three two-handled cake plates, two sauce tureens with covers and stands, four graduated oval platters, largest length 43cm, nine teacups and seven saucers and two breakfast cups and five saucers, printed, painted and impressed marks to bases (minor faults). Provenance: from the estate of a Sussex gentleman.

An extensive Staffordshire porcelain part service, mid to late 19th century, each piece with painted and gilt crest with motto 'Nec Temere Nec Timide', the rims with cobalt blue leaves edged in gilt on gilt banded detail, comprising a pair of circular two-handled tureens and covers with two-handled circular stands, two large oval platters length 59cm, oval platter length 48cm, oval platter length 43.5cm, oval platter length 37.5cm, oval platter length 32cm, two oval platters length 27.5cm, twenty-four dinner plates diameter 26.8cm, sixteen soup plates diameter 27.3cm, twelve dessert plates diameter 23cm, low stand diameter 29cm and two sauce tureens and covers, unmarked (some faults). Provenance: from the estate of a Sussex gentleman.

A Continental porcelain vase, probably Meissen mid 18th century, the baluster body with short neck rim, painted with Deutsche blumen, the edge of the foot and base of the neck with gilt line detail, unmarked, height 23.5cm.

A Royal Copenhagen stoneware vase, circa 1958, designed by Johannes Hedegaard, the spherical body partially glazed in turquoise beneath the terracotta tapering neck, underglaze blue wave mark to base with blue painted signature and numerals `21617` and green printed `Denmark`, height 22.5cm.

A Carter Stabler Adams Ltd. Poole Pottery two-handled vase, 1920s, decorated in the Bluebird and Trellis pattern 'PN', impressed and painted marks to base, height 18cm, together with a slightly later Poole Pottery two-handled vase with floral decoration, impressed, painted and incised marks to base, height 13cm.

A group of five Karl Ens bird models, comprising a pair of herons, height 24cm, lapwing, height 19cm, pied avocet, height 15cm, a duck about to take flight, height 15cm, and a duck swimming by some foliage, height 9cm, various printed and some impressed marks (minor faults).

Seven Karl Ens bird models, comprising a hummingbird perched on top of a flower, height 16cm, sparrow, height 12.5cm, bullfinch, height 13cm, nuthatch, height 11cm, titmouse, height 10cm, a linnet on a branch base, height 17cm, and a jay, height 16.5cm, various printed and impressed marks.

Twelve small Karl Ens bird models, comprising a linnet, height 11.5cm, crested lark, height 13.5cm, nightingale, height 12.5cm, two kingfishers, height 11.5cm, yellow canary, height 13.5cm, wren, height 9cm, fairy wren, height 9.5cm, bluethroat, height 9cm, redstart, height 12.5cm, and two tits, various printed and impressed marks.

Five Karl Ens models of parrots, comprising two with predominantly pink plumage, height 18.5cm, one with predominantly blue plumage, height 19cm, one of green colouring, height 14.5cm, and one of grey, height 15.5cm, various printed and impressed marks (minor faults).

Two Karl Ens models of parrots, the first of predominantly blue colouring with open wings perched on a leafy branch base, shape No. 7337, height 21cm, the second of white and peach colour with open wings and bowed head, shape No. 7119, height 19.5cm, together with a Karl Ens model of a tawny owl, height 17.5cm, various printed and impressed marks.

Four Karl Ens bird models, comprising a golden oriole, height 22.5cm, green woodpecker, height 25.5cm, falcon, height 24cm, and a bird with blue, green and brown plumage on a leafy branch base, height 30cm, various printed and impressed marks (last restored, minor faults).

A large Karl Ens model of a partridge, height 27cm, together with two Karl Ens models of pheasants with colourful plumage, height 19cm, various printed and impressed marks.

Three Karl Ens models of birds, comprising a long-eared owl, height 17cm, a tawny owl, height 15.5cm, and a crossbill perched on a pinecone, height 14cm, together with two Continental porcelain models of game birds, circa 1900, standing on circular bases with floral encrusted detail, gilt painted mark to one, height 14.5cm.
